We are celebrating the Award of our FIFTH INTERNATIONAL GREEN FLAG FOR BIODIVERSITY 2017!
We are entering Eco-Unesco's competition in 2017 for the First Time. Read all about it... “The Young Environmentalist Awards not only recognise and reward those inspirational young people who raise awareness of environmental issues and try to find solutions to difficult problems; they also encourage young people to get involved, to suggest new answers to old questions and to be resourceful as they work together to find new ideas, new ways of thinking and to question some of the perceived inevitabilities by which we live”. Michael D. Higgins, President of Ireland
ECO-UNESCO’s Young Environmentalist Awards (YEA) is an all-Ireland environmental awards programme that recognises and rewards young people who raise environmental awareness and improve the environment. We look forward to collecting our plaque from Irish Aid for our SymmeTREE initiative at the Dept. of Education and Skills with a delegation from the Green Committee.
In the same week we will be picking up our Biodiversity International Green Flag at the Helix Theatre! So many free lunches, golly!
We were really excited to be in the top group going on to make our pitch in the SEAI competition, in the top twenty in the whole country!!!
Congrats to all who helped us win BEST COMMUNITY GARDEN 2015! What a lovely surprise! Well done Marjorie Matthews, our resident gardening expert and all-round angel.
